A little time for you
to rest, unwind & connect

REFLEXOLOGY DURING PREGNANCY
Gentle support through
a time of change.
Pregnancy can be an exciting time, but it can also bring physical changes, tiredness, disrupted sleep and plenty to think about.
Maternity reflexology offers a calm, unhurried space to rest and switch off for a while.
Treatments are adapted throughout pregnancy, taking into account how you are feeling, your stage of pregnancy and any relevant health or maternity information.
Reflexology is a complementary therapy and does not replace the care or advice of your midwife, GP or maternity team.

As your baby grows, sleep, comfort and energy levels can change. Your treatment is adapted so that you remain well supported and comfortable throughout.
Preparing for birth
Time to slow down
Towards the end of pregnancy, some women choose to have reflexology more regularly as a way of relaxing and preparing mentally and physically for birth.
♡ Reflexology does not claim to induce labour. Its role is to support relaxation and wellbeing as your body naturally prepares for birth.
YOUR APPOINTMENT
What happens during maternity reflexology?
Your appointment begins with a chat about your pregnancy, how you are feeling and anything you would particularly like support with.
On your first visit, we'll also go through relevant health and pregnancy information so I can make sure reflexology is appropriate for you.
You'll then settle comfortably on my cushioned treatment couch. Pillows, bolsters and blankets can be used to make sure you feel well supported as your pregnancy progresses.
Only your shoes and socks are removed and the treatment is carried out using gentle, individual pressure across the feet.
Most importantly, this is your time. There is no need to talk throughout your treatment unless you want to.
GOOD TO KNOW
Is reflexology safe during pregnancy?
Reflexology can be enjoyed throughout pregnancy when it is appropriate for you and carried out by a suitably trained practitioner.
I qualified as a reflexologist in 2005 and have additional training in maternity and reproductive reflexology, so your treatment will always take your individual circumstances into account.
There are occasions when treatment may need to be adapted or postponed.
If you have a high-risk pregnancy, pregnancy complication or particular health concern, I may ask you to check with your midwife, consultant or healthcare professional before treatment.
