Supporting You Through Your Fertility Journey

Trying to conceive can be an exciting time, but for many people it can also bring uncertainty, frustration, disappointment and emotional strain.

Whether you have recently started trying for a baby, have been trying for some time, have a diagnosed reproductive health condition, or are preparing for IVF or other assisted conception treatment,

reflexology may offer a supportive and calming addition to your fertility journey.

As a qualified reflexologist with additional training in reproductive health, fertility support and maternity reflexology - My aim is not to replace medical care or fertility treatment, but to work alongside it, providing a safe, relaxing and supportive space where you can focus on your wellbeing during what can often be an emotionally demanding time.

What Is Fertility Reflexology?

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy based on the principle that different areas of the feet correspond with different parts of the body.

A fertility-focused reflexology session uses specialised treatment approaches designed to support overall reproductive health and wellbeing. Treatment is always tailored to the individual and takes into account factors such as menstrual cycle patterns, reproductive health history, lifestyle factors and any fertility investigations or treatments being undertaken.

Many clients choose reflexology because it provides regular time to relax, unwind and support their overall wellbeing whilst trying to conceive.

Who Might Benefit?

Fertility and reproductive health reflexology may be suitable for women who:

  • Are trying to conceive naturally

  • Are preparing for IVF, ICSI, IUI or other assisted conception treatments

  • Have experienced miscarriage or pregnancy loss and are preparing to try again

  • Have irregular menstrual cycles

  • Experience painful or heavy periods

  • Have PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) or Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS)

  • Have Endometriosis

  • Have unexplained infertility

  • Are looking to better understand and support their menstrual cycle

  • Feel stressed, anxious or emotionally overwhelmed by their fertility journey.

Partners are also welcome. Male fertility plays an important role in conception, and reflexology may provide valuable relaxation and wellbeing support during this process too.

Reflexology and Natural Conception

When trying to conceive naturally, it can be helpful to take a broader look at reproductive health rather than focusing solely on ovulation.

Fertility-focused reflexology sessions consider factors such as:

  • Menstrual cycle regularity

  • Stress levels

  • Sleep quality

  • Lifestyle factors

  • General health and wellbeing

  • Hormonal balance

Many clients report feeling calmer, sleeping better and feeling more in tune with their cycle after a course of regular treatments.

Reflexology and IVF, ICSI & Assisted Conception

Increasing numbers of fertility clinics and reproductive health professionals recognise the value of complementary therapies in supporting emotional wellbeing during fertility treatment.

IVF and ICSI treatment can be physically demanding and emotionally challenging.

Reflexology may provide valuable support during this time by offering an opportunity to relax, reduce stress and focus on self-care.

Treatment can often be adapted to fit around different stages of assisted conception treatment, including:

  • Preparation before treatment begins

  • Ovarian stimulation phases

  • Embryo transfer periods

  • The two-week wait

  • Early pregnancy support

Many clients tell me that having regular reflexology appointments gives them a sense of calm, control and support throughout their treatment journey.

You are welcome to start your reflexology at any stage of your fertility journey, even if you are not yet pursuing treatment.

What Happens During an Appointment?

Your first appointment will include a detailed consultation where we discuss:

  • Your menstrual cycle

  • Medical history

  • Fertility history

  • Lifestyle factors

  • Current treatments or investigations

  • Any concerns or questions you may have

Reflexology sessions are generally for an hour, although with your first visit extra time is allowed so we can have a chat to discuss what you are looking to get out of having Reflexology, any questions you may have etc.

Treatment is carried out whilst you relax comfortably on the treatment couch. Only the feet need to be uncovered.

Many clients find the sessions deeply relaxing and enjoy having dedicated time away from the pressures and demands that fertility challenges can sometimes bring.

My Approach

Over the years, I have developed a particular interest in women's reproductive health, menstrual wellbeing and fertility support.

Alongside my reflexology qualification, I have completed additional training in fertility and reproductive reflexology with the Association of Reproductive Reflexologists Barbara Scott's ReproReflexology approach, maternity reflexology and women's health, allowing me to support clients at different stages of their fertility journey.

I believe fertility support should be compassionate, realistic and evidence-informed.

Whilst reflexology cannot guarantee pregnancy, many people find it a valuable part of their overall fertility support plan.

My role is to provide a calm, supportive environment, help promote relaxation and wellbeing, and work alongside any medical advice or fertility treatment you may be receiving.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Can reflexology help me get pregnant?

No therapy can guarantee pregnancy. Reflexology should not be viewed as a treatment for infertility. However, many people choose reflexology as part of their fertility support plan because it may help promote relaxation, reduce stress and support overall wellbeing during their journey.

Can I have reflexology whilst undergoing IVF or ICSI?

Yes. Reflexology is commonly used alongside assisted conception treatment and can often be adapted around different stages of the treatment cycle.

Always let your reflexologist know where you are within your treatment programme.

How often should I have treatments?

This varies depending on your circumstances.

Many fertility reflexologists recommend weekly or fortnightly sessions, particularly in the months leading up to IVF treatment or whilst trying to conceive.

Is reflexology safe?

Reflexology is generally considered a safe, non-invasive therapy when provided by a suitably qualified practitioner.

A full consultation is always carried out before treatment.

Can reflexology help with PCOS/PMOS or endometriosis?

Reflexology cannot treat or cure these conditions. However, many women choose reflexology as part of their overall wellbeing and self-care approach alongside medical treatment and advice.
