Hot Stone Massage Therapy

Hot stone back massage

Melt away tension with the soothing, deep warmth of
Hot Stones.

Hot stone massage is a deeply relaxing treatment that uses smooth, warmed basalt stones to help ease muscular tension and support your wellbeing. The heat from the stones gently penetrates into the muscles, helping them release more easily than with hands alone – making this treatment especially effective for deep relaxation and physical tension.

This therapy is calming, comforting, and ideal if you’re feeling tired, achy, or overwhelmed.

The use of stones in massage has been part of many cultures around the world. With evidence suggesting that the Chinese have been using hot stone therapy for over 2000 years as a form of healing and maintaining balance in the body. As well as being seen in the histories of Europe, India, America and Africa.

The stones are composed of 'basalt' - which due to its high density retains heat well. They are heated at a controlled temperature and are only applied to the skin at a comfortable temperature.

So while they may be hot, they will not burn or cause discomfort.

What Happens During a

Hot Stone Massage?

Throughout the massage, I use smooth basalt stones – these are volcanic stones that hold heat really well and feel beautifully smooth on the skin. The stones are safely heated to a comfortable, controlled temperature, and used to gently massage your muscles with slow, flowing movements.

Sometimes I’ll place stones on specific points (like your back or hands) to gently warm those areas while continuing to work elsewhere.

The combination of warmth and massage can be incredibly soothing – especially if you often feel cold, tired, or tense.

The treatment is always tailored to you – whether you’re here for pure relaxation or needing help with specific areas of muscular tension.
